Queensland Musical Theatre brought Big Hair and Bigger Heart to Brisbane with Hairspray

We danced to the beat of the 60s as Queensland Musical Theatre proudly presented the Tony Award–winning musical Hairspray at the Twelfth Night Theatre, Bowen Hills.

Set in 1960s Baltimore, Hairspray follows the upbeat and unstoppable Tracy Turnblad as she dances her way onto TV, fights for equality, and inspires a community to embrace change. With its infectious energy, dazzling choreography, and iconic songs like You Can’t Stop the Beat and Good Morning Baltimore, Hairspray is a feel-good celebration of diversity, love, and acceptance.
